Dr. Strauss’ research program focuses on examining the relationship between soil microbial communities and citrus and vegetable crop health and production. This includes a variety of projects, from exploration of the baseline soil microbial communities associated with these crops and Florida soils, to determining methods to manage or alter the soil microbiology to improve crop productivity.
The extension program is focused on emerging management strategies for soil microbiology based on grower needs. Dr. Strauss is excited about collaborating with growers to enhance and expand Florida’s citrus and vegetable production.
